

Turkish Airlines, the airline flying to more countries than any other, has announced its passenger and cargo traffic results for January 2026. The national flag carrier demonstrated a robust start to the year, carrying 7.6 million passengers and achieving a total load factor of 84%.
Key Highlights of January 2026 Traffic:
Passenger Growth: The total number of passengers reached 7.6 million.
Capacity Expansion: Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) increased by 10%, rising to 23.7 billion compared to 21.5 billion in January 2025.
International Connectivity: International-to-international transfer passengers saw a significant surge of 10.8%, growing from 2.8 million to 3.1 million.
Load Factors: The airline maintained high occupancy rates, with an international load factor of 83.7% and a domestic load factor of 87.5%.
Cargo and Mail: Cargo/Mail operations continued their upward trajectory, with 178.3 thousand tons carried—an 18.8% increase over the same period last year.
Fleet Development: As of the end of January 2026, the Turkish Airlines fleet reached a total of 522 aircraft.
The reported traffic results are consolidated and include data from the Turkish Airlines main brand as well as its subsidiary, AJet.
The 10% increase in capacity relative to 2025 underscores the carrier’s commitment to meeting rising global travel demand while maintaining its position as a leading global aviation hub.
