According to him, the goal of the banks is to build sustainable infrastructure and business that bring prosperity to all stakeholders and the African continent.

Wigwe said, “As a bank of best practice, we have a responsibility to the society. We see it as our duty to help grow local communities and the real economy through the provision of capital, which in turn drives infrastructural development, creates jobs, and enables companies and individuals to purchase goods and do business every day.

The Head, Credit Risk Management Group, Access Bank, Mr. Gregory Ijeobame, said, “This is an employee-volunteering scheme. We have decided to take up the challenge of giving back to the society and because we have adopted Akodo-Ise community, we have carried out a number of projects which include the construction of the classrooms here.

“Access Bank is a bank that has always taken very seriously its responsibility to the communities that it does business with and because we do business everywhere in the world, it is very vital that we make impact and touch the stakeholders in the manner that is selfless.

The Head Teacher, Akodo-Ise Primary School, Mrs. Salami Olushola, thanked the bank for the gesture and said the facility would enhance learning and bring educational development to the community.

He said the government would continue to collaborate with corporate organisations in the area of education and infrastructural development.
