Sterling Bank Plc says it has received the TCIC ISO 20000-1 certification in recognition of its attainment of global best practices in service management.
TCIC Global Certification Limited is a management system and independent audit accredited training provider founded in 2003.
The company provides audit of management system and personnel certification/registration.
The TCIC ISO 20000-1 certification means Sterling Bank has met one of the components in the Central Bank of Nigeria’s road map for technology departments of Deposit Money Banks in the country.
The bank, in a statement signed by its Group Head, Strategy and Communications, Mr. Shina Atilola, explained that the journey to implementing ISO 20000-1 commenced in July 2014 and ended in February 2015.
The training and certification audit took place between July and August, 2015.
The statement read in part, “This certification came about after an audit was conducted on the bank to review our people and practices.
“The standard stipulates a certain level of competence for IT (Information Technology) staff, and in order to meet this standard, several members of staff within our Technology Group undertook trainings and certification examinations.
It further said, “In achieving this feat, the bank implemented 13 processes and also created an IT service management unit, of which the IT service desk is an important component.”
