Skye Bank Trains 20 Female Entrepreneurs on Business

Skye Bank Plc says it has trained 20 female entrepreneurs under the aegis of the Skye Pearl programme. It said the training was meant to assist them run their businesses efficiently, profitably and professionally.

The lender said the beneficiaries were the first set of entrepreneurs to be trained under the advisory and training support services for female entrepreneurs, a component package of the Skye Pearl programme.

The package is designed to cater for the funding and capacity building needs of female entrepreneurs and stay-at-home mothers, among others.

The Regional Director, Greater Ikeja Region, Skye Bank Plc, Mr. Ndubuisi Osakwe, said the training was meant to build capacity for women in business and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in business, a statement by the bank said.

Osakwe said studies had shown that with the necessary basic training in business management, women would excel as well as create value, thereby contributing to the development of the nation.

According to him, women in business have low record of credit default, adding that with the necessary training and business advisory, they will not only excel but become employers of labour.

The Head, Small Business, Skye Bank, Mrs. Ayodele Olojede, said the bank would partner the female entrepreneurs to improve the business climate and remove obstacles to their success

Olojede noted that the training programme was in line with the unique value proposition of Skye Pearl initiative to address the knowledge and skill gap among female entrepreneurs and position them for competitive participation in business.

The statement quoted the Managing Director, Jemsiks Nigeria Limited, who was one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Adetutu Akoni, as saying that the training covered financial planning, account preparation, forescasting and book keeping.
