Orange Drugs Introduces New Antiseptic Soap

Orange Drugs Limited, a leading household and drugs manufacturing company, has introduced its 12th soap brand, Delta Bodyguard, into the Nigerian market.

Introducing the new anti-septic soap in Lagos at a Distributors ‘Forum, the company’s General Manager, Ms Shonel Oushun, said the new product was designed to cater for a special niche class, apart from boosting the firm’s marketing horizon.

She said as a market leader in Nigeria’s soap business, Orange Drugs, with 12 different soap brands in the market, had 35 per cent of the soap market.

The Sales and Marketing Coordinator for the company, Mr. Ifeanyi Okafor, described the new initiative as part of the company’s trail-blazing schemes, which had seen the company covering grounds within a short time of entering the market.

He spoke on the company’s potential and capacity, “Äs a dynamic company, we are targeting 50 per cent of the market. In the next three or five years, we hope to achieve this.”

He said all soaps manufactured by the company were fully home-made.

“All the raw materials used for our products are sourced locally; no importation of any kind. Our Aba factory has enough capacity to support our expansion programmes. We hope to sustain the tempo and ensure that quality is maintained,” he said.

Okafor canvassed the support of stakeholders, especially the distributors, to ensure the achievement of the company’s ambitious growth programmes.

On the possibility of having its products faked, Okafor said that had not been reported. He, however, added that enough mechanisms were in place to ensure that the products were tamper-proof as well as adulteration-resistant.
