NIMN Ikeja Chapter Ushers in New Era of Leadership; Unveils Bold Vision for Innovation and Growth

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) Ikeja Chapter officially inaugurated its new Executive Committee (EXCO) during a high-profile ceremony and end-of-year celebration held Thursday, December 4. The event, which drew industry leaders, fellows of the institute, and marketing professionals, marked a strategic transition aimed at repositioning the chapter as a premier hub for professional excellence.

The inauguration, held alongside the chapter’s End-of-Year Celebration, was led by the newly sworn-in Chairman, Onome D. Odili (FNIMN).

In an inspiring inaugural address, the incoming Chairman emphasized a mandate of “Vibrancy, Innovation, and Visibility,” setting a clear trajectory for the chapter’s next chapter.

The newly inaugurated leadership team outlined a “simple but powerful” three-pillar strategy designed to enhance the professional lives of its members:

People: Focusing on member development through structured mentorship and community building.

Profession: Elevating the standard of marketing practice via continuous learning and cross-industry collaboration.

Presence: Strengthening the chapter’s influence and engagement within the broader Nigerian marketing landscape.

“Tonight marks the beginning of a clear mandate: to lift the NIMN Ikeja Chapter into a new era,” the Chairman stated. “Our vision is to position Ikeja as the most active, influential, and professionally rewarding chapter in the entire Institute.” Building on a Strong Foundation The ceremony served as both a look forward and a tribute to the past. The incoming EXCO extended deep appreciation to the outgoing committee for their dedication, noting that their service provided the foundation for the current expansion. Despite the transition, the chapter has already demonstrated momentum in the final quarter of the year, participating in significant multi-sectoral initiatives such as the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and initiating reforms to internal structures to better serve new and existing members. A Call for Collective Leadership Stressing that leadership is a “collective journey” rather than a solo act, the new EXCO called for active partnership from all members. The inauguration concluded with a celebratory atmosphere, blending professional commitment with the spirit of the season. “We step into this role with humility and confidence rooted in service,” the Chairman concluded. “Together, we will build a chapter that reflects the true spirit of marketing: innovation, connection, and impact.”
