Mizar Energies Debuts in Nigeria’s Fuel Retail Market, Targets Nationwide Expansion with Quality, Reliability

…Launches first retail station on Lagos–Badagry Expressway, promises accurate dispensing, product integrity and dependable fuel supply
In a strategic move to strengthen its presence in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry and redefine the fuel retail experience, Mizar Eridanus Energy Limited (MEEL), a subsidiary of Mizar Eridanus Holdings Limited, has officially launched Mizar Energies, its retail fuel brand, with the opening of its first filling station along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
The launch marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and diversification strategy, signalling its entry into direct petroleum retail and laying the foundation for a planned nationwide network of service stations across major commercial, commuter and trade corridors.
Strategically positioned along one of Lagos State’s busiest transportation routes, the new station is designed to serve private motorists, commercial transport operators, logistics companies and long-distance travellers, providing convenient access from both directions of the expressway.
The development comes amid ongoing transformation in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, where market deregulation, evolving supply dynamics and increasing consumer expectations are creating opportunities for operators that can differentiate themselves through efficiency, transparency and service excellence.
With persistent consumer concerns surrounding inaccurate fuel dispensing, inconsistent product quality and unpredictable stock availability, Mizar Energies is positioning itself as a customer-focused retail brand committed to rebuilding confidence at the pump.

At the heart of its market proposition are three fundamental commitments: accurate fuel measurement, verified product quality and reliable product availability, supported by the group’s established petroleum sourcing, distribution and logistics capabilities.
Speaking on the significance of the launch, Benjamin Ekwebelam, Group Chief Executive Officer, Mizar Eridanus Holdings Limited, described the development as an important step towards extending the group’s operational standards directly to consumers.
“What you pay for is exactly what you get — a litre from us is a litre, accurately measured and properly tested, every time. That is the standard this group is built on, and it is the standard we are carrying into every Mizar Energies outlet we open,” Ekwebelam stated.
He emphasised the company’s determination to establish a retail brand that customers can trust, particularly in an industry where product integrity and dispensing accuracy remain critical considerations for motorists and commercial operators.
As part of its commitment to operational excellence, the newly commissioned station dispenses Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), operating daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with flexible payment options including cash, card and bank transfers.
The facility has also incorporated quality assurance and safety measures designed to safeguard product integrity throughout the retail process.
According to the company, every dispenser on the forecourt is calibrated and sealed in accordance with the requirements of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), with verification conducted quarterly to maintain dispensing accuracy.
Similarly, petroleum products received at the station undergo quality checks against supplier certificates before being approved for sale, ensuring that customers receive products that meet the company’s quality standards.
The station is licensed and authorised by the NMDPRA, with its storage, product handling and forecourt operations aligned with the Authority’s prescribed safety requirements.
Beyond product quality, Mizar Energies intends to leverage the group’s established logistics infrastructure and sourcing relationships to maintain dependable stock availability, minimise supply disruptions and improve the overall customer experience.

The company explained that its entry into direct retail represents a natural extension of its existing midstream and downstream operations, enabling it to integrate its petroleum value chain more effectively while creating a stronger connection with end users.
Looking ahead, Mizar Energies plans to expand its retail footprint progressively, with future outlets expected along major trade and commuter routes across Nigeria.
The expansion strategy will draw on the group’s experience in petroleum product sourcing, trading, storage and distribution, while prioritising commercially viable locations, operational consistency and sustainable growth.
Commenting on the company’s expansion ambitions, Richard Arokoyo, Head of Commercial & Operations, Mizar Eridanus Energy Limited, said the inaugural station represents the beginning of a broader effort to make reliable petroleum retail services accessible to more Nigerians.
“This is just the beginning for us. We are starting on the Badagry Expressway, and we will take the same standard of quality and reliability to more motorists in more locations,” Arokoyo said.
He noted that the company’s growth strategy would be supported by its existing operational capabilities, with particular emphasis on ensuring that new outlets maintain the same standards of quality, transparency and service delivery.
The rollout is also expected to create employment opportunities and stimulate economic activities within host communities through direct station operations and engagement with logistics providers, equipment technicians, maintenance contractors and other local service businesses.
As Nigeria’s petroleum retail landscape continues to evolve, Mizar Energies believes that sustained customer confidence, product integrity and operational efficiency will remain important drivers of competitiveness.

With its first station now operational, the company is seeking to establish a distinctive position in the downstream market by combining its supply-chain expertise with a consumer-focused service philosophy.
The launch underscores Mizar Eridanus Energy Limited’s broader commitment to building a resilient, efficient and customer-centric energy business, while contributing to the development of Nigeria’s petroleum distribution and retail infrastructure.
For Mizar Energies, the ambition is clear: to build a trusted nationwide fuel retail brand where every litre counts, quality is assured, and reliability is a consistent customer experience.
