
In the run-up to Yuletide, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Nigeria’s preferred noodles brand, Indomie Instant Noodles, is set to keep its teeming young consumers engaged with the ongoing ‘Indomitables Team’ promo which reintroduces the brand’s famous Indomitables characters.
The promo, which has seen the company rebranding its popular 70gram Indomie Chicken Pack, requires that consumers aged 15 and below collect a total of 16 magnetic stickers of the Indomitable heroes in varying poses and flash the number in each of them to qualify for a lucky draw. After the promo, five successful children will get to be part of the Indomitables animation series on TV.
“We value our esteemed consumers, most of whom are kids. So this is a way of giving them something extra special that will not only keep them excited but also engaged during the holiday season and even beyond,” explained Mr. Deepak Singhal, CEO, Dufil Prima Foods Plc.
As a way of creating more excitement around the promo and strengthening the association between Indomie noodles and the Indomitables characters, Singhal also disclosed that Indomitables magnets would be included in every 70gram Indomie pack for the exciting promo, which is already witnessing impressive participation among target consumers.
“In all, there are 16 magnets of the five heroes. Each hero strikes a different pose in three magnets and one magnet features all of them together. The kids have to collect all of them and flash the number in each to enter the lucky draw. 5 lucky winners will get to be part of the Indomitables animation series on TV,” he said.
Meanwhile, the revolutionary ‘Indomitables Team’ promo is not restricted to Lagos, but includes several other states in the Federation where Indomie has remained a household name over the years.
“Fliers, posters and cut-outs of Indomitables characters extend beyond Lagos. As we speak, school sampling teams have already been activated so kids out there can understand the promo mechanism,” disclosed Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, Publicity Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Plc.
According to Ashiwaju, Indomitables fliers and posters have already been distributed to Abuja, Ibadan, Ilorin, Benin, Kano, Kaduna, Jos, PHC, Enugu, Onitsha, Owerri, Uyo, Calabar, Makurdi and Yola, adding that its instant acceptance and the buzz it has created so far, among children and their wards in those states speaks volumes about the huge market share that Indomie commands in the instant noodles market.
The Indomitables comprise five super heroes whose mission is to protect the world from man-made disasters perpetrated by villains. Tweeny creates and manipulates wind, she can fly and break out of bonds to scare unsuspecting villains; Bigboy, increases his size to gigantic proportions in a matter of minutes; Swifty, runs at the speed of light; Stretchy, stretches to amazing lengths while Vision, deflects harm and lights up dark environments with laser beams from her eyes.
