Coke Studio Africa Season 3 Is Here Again!

Africa’s much loved music platform, Coke Studio Season 3 has return following the popularity of the season 2:

Refreshed, the Season 3 boasts of line-up of established and new musicians, starting from October, to run until December 2015.

The Marketing Director- Coca-Cola, Patricia Jemibewon, said the show will feature ‘mash ups’ of top musical talent on the continent, through musical fusions and regionally inspired music. It will revive the atmosphere of live recordings and performances, providing music as a platform to bridge cultural and national barriers, encourage unity and introduce a sense of African pride.

Coke Studio Season 3 will be in distinct segments; mash ups between Nigerian and East African artistes; Artiste challenges; acoustic performances; and new songs from featured artistes.

This season will bring together 28 artistes from five different countries to sing 52 songs, showcasing their local and signature styles to produce unique songs.

Nine Nigerian artistes billed to feature on the show include, Eva Alordia, Ice Prince, Flavour, Chindinma, 2Face, YemiAlade, Olamide, MI Abaga and AfriDija, while talented music maestro CobhamsAsuquowould bring his expertise to bear on the show as Executive Producer.

There would also be a radio show version for Coke Studio Africa, bringing the best the continent has to offer onand it will air across seven cities (Lagos, Abuja, PH, Kano, Aba, Anambra and Ibadan).

Also, this season, the beverage giant will engage up to 500,000 Nigerian teens in secondary schools will be engaged with Coke Studio, providing them an opportunity to showcase and highlight their talent with the state of the art Coke Studio bus which is fully equipped with adigital music production facility; with t professional mixing console, recording microphones, state of the art audio interface and mic pre amp.

Commenting on the initiative, Marketing Director, Coca-Cola, Patricia Jemibewon described the Coke Studio music platform as Coca-Cola’s way of sharing in the passions and aspirations of the African youth.

Jemibewon said, “Coke Studio is a way of showing to the youths and also   exploring the potential avenue for youths to express themselves through the music. It opens up the Nigerian Teen to music and culture from other African countries and is a potential avenue for self expression in the music & production space. Coke Studio is a demonstration of Coca-Cola’s belief in the youth of Africa, a celebration of collaboration.”
