Africa’s leading tech career accelerator, ALX Africa, successfully engaged with thousands of young and tech enthusiasts at the second edition of the Ibadan Tech Summit. As one of the key sponsors of the event, ALX used the opportunity to connect with the young vibrant audience, sharing insights into their unique offerings.
The event, supported by the Oyo State Government, brought together startups, professionals, and tech enthusiasts to foster meaningful discussions on growing and strengthening the tech ecosystem in the region, intending to position Ibadan as one of
Africa’s fastest-growing tech-friendly cities.
Country Marketing Manager, ALX Nigeria, Seun Babajide Duroshola, represented the organisation on a panel that discussed strategies for growth and innovation on advancing the Tech Ecosystem in Oyo State. During the panel, Seun shared how ALX
Africa’s programme structure not only empowers participants with relevant tech skills but encourages networking and support with its community-focused approach.
“For anyone that gets on an ALX programme, we have an active community in each state of Nigeria, so they do not feel like they are alone. Whenever they find themselves struggling or find it difficult to meet deadlines, they have the opportunity to meet with
someone who has been through that roadblock who can support them,” Seun remarked.
Furthermore, Seun stated, “Ibadan is fast becoming a tech hub, and we are excited to play a role in building this ecosystem. By providing access to quality tech skills, we aim to empower the youth to not only participate in building the tech pedigree of their region but lead it.”
The Ibadan Tech Summit served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders committed to driving technological advancements in Oyo State and beyond.
