The Chief Operating Officer/Executive Director of one of the nation’s frontline creative communication agen-cies, 141 Worldwide, Mrs Bunmi Oke, over the weekend, was elected as the new president of the Advertising Agencies Association of Nigeria (AAAN).
The new AAAN president, emerged winner of the office, afte she was elected unopposed at the association’s 39th Annual General Meeting, held in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Oke, a thoroughbred professional, who, prior before the elections, had proved her mettle in other capacities within the association, emerged after the immediate past president of the association, Mr Rufai Ladipo, signalled his intention not to re-contest, at the expiration of his one-year term, in June, this year.
For instance, she was the chairman of the last edition of the highly successful Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF), a reward initiative organised by the association to celebrate creative excellence within the advertising industry.
The association’s new president believes that though the tasks before her are enormous, ‘they are definitely not insurmountable’.
She however calls for the support of all members in order to achieve her dreams of taking the association to greater heights.
