MTN Launches Songstar Karaoke Music App Contest in Partnership with Don Jazzy
According to the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN, Larry Annetts, “The music app is quite different from any other apps in its category, because it’s interactive, engaging and above all, social.” According to him, “the app contains various songs from different music genres ranging from Nigerian hip-hop, R & B, Afro hip-hop and many others that meet the desires of the current generation of youths, especially the mobile and trendy.”
The app is currently available on Android (versions 2.3 and above), Blackberry 6, 7 and 10 and the Nokia Asha series.
The company also launched a Karaoke contest to engage with its millions of customers which will run from now till the end of November. Contest prizes include a Porsche Cayman, Kia Cerato saloon cars, home theater karaoke sets, smart phones, a record deal under Nigeria’s popular music producer- Don Jazzy and a lot of other rewards.
To enter the contest, participants must first download the MTN SongStar app on their mobile devices by visiting the MTN app store, http://nextapps.mtnonline.com/30736 or send songstar to 131. Participants are then expected to select and download any song of their choice from the library of karaoke songs, after which they will sing, record and share on the MTN YouTube channel within the application.
