Close Up Captures More Consumers with Free Dental Check

Close Up, the premium tooth paste brand from the stable of Unilever Nigeria Plc, has taken it corporate social responsibility (CSR), initiative a notch higher by offering Lagos consumers free dental check at Surulere and Magodo areas of Lagos.

Hundreds of thousands of consumers during a recent Close Up CSR in Lagos besieged the Beaver Clinic in Magodo to experience the free dental health care with numerous others having their mouth sorted out in the process.

While research has shown that accessibility to dentists is extremely low in Nigeria with only 15percent of Nigerians visit dentist yearly the Brand Manager, Close Up, Dexter Adeola, “as Nigerian’s o. 1 brand, we chose this platform to reach out to Nigerian and families in need of dental help. This would also serve as an awareness campaign to sensitize people on the need for proper oral care and the importance of regular Dental check-ups.”

Adeola stated that over the years, Close Up has given health protection to the teeth and gums of millions of Nigerian families. “The brand has also worked with health professionals and dentists nationwide to educate Nigerians on the importance of oral care.

This Free Dental check is in line with our commitment to ensure Nigerians have the best solutions and care for their teeth and Gums.” She said the intention was to strategically reach Nigerians in the two extreme location of Lagos – Surulere and Magodo. Recounting the impact of the campaign so far, the brand manager said the impact has been huge.

The Principal Dentist, the Beaver Clinic, Magodo, Tola Owoturo, said “Free dental check is not so popular, it happens quite often in a few places but I don’t think it happens enough because you find out that many people do not even know that dental care is actually accessible and readily available but we are trying to create dental awareness by having this kind of programme that dental health care is actually available for them.”
