Nutricima Unveils Community Games 2012

To brighten the chances of the country in future international and local competitions, Nutricima has unveiled Community Games 2012 to promote sporting activities across communities in the country. The competition is billed to hold from September 10 through 23, 1012 across communities in Lagos.

The competition, powered by Nutricima’s   Olympic Milk brand,  is uniquely designed to make positive impact on the future of individual participants while enhancing the bond among participating communities.

According to the organizers, the maiden edition is starting with 10 selected communities in Lagos. These include Bariga, Ketu, Obalende, Surulere, Ikorodu and Agege. Others are  Mushin, Oshodi, Orile-Iganmu and Ajegunle.

Speaking on the competition, Senior Brand Manager, Olympic Milk, Mrs. Chiaka Eluchie, explains that the brand through the event will promote communal spirit and unity which is in line with the brand’s positioning. “The competition is powered by Olympic Milk to inspire strong bonds among grass root communities through sporting activities”.

“The duration of the competition is a time for people to show their talents and the skills in the three games: football, table tennis and draughts featuring in the competition”. She explains that the three games have been identified as the most common games among local communities and Nutricima intends to deploy these familiar platforms to showcase future champions”

In her address, the Head of Marketing, Nutricima Limited, Mrs, Wande Oluwaseunfunmi stated that “the key objective of the competition is to revive community games, nurture and discover talents for future Olympic medalists who will make the country proud in sporting activities”.

The Head of Marketing discloses that the first prize winners in all the three sports will not be celebrated alone, but the community of the winners will be celebrated at large in order to enhance the bond among the members of such communities.

In her words, the Corporate Affairs and Administration Director, PZ Cussons Limited, Mrs. Yomi Ifaturoti discloses that PZ as the parent company to Olympic Milk delights in the giant stride the brand is taking to promote community sport and to discover talents.

She adds that the parent company is throwing its weight behind the brand for this historic initiative that will transform the country’s sport section.  According to Ifaturoti, the heat and excitement of the games are already generating enthusiasm in the selected communities with budding talents showing eagerness to display their skills for the
various prizes at stake.

Apart from watching the games at no cost, spectators stand a chance of winning in a consumer promotion  that will be on during the period of the competition. All they need to do is to present Olympic Wrappers to stand a chance of winning exciting prizes ranging from generators, phones, bags, to water bottles at the venue of the events.
