Speaking about his upcoming show, 16Oniru remarked, “Royal Pains has been in the works for a very long time and I am so excited to finally make this announcement. This path I have chosen hasn’t been an easy one but I am grateful for how far I have come. On October 22, 2017, I will be addressing the pains the royalty goes through from a humorous and satiric perspective, hence the theme “Royal Pains”. I assure you, the performances will be one of a kind and that evening is one you won’t forget quickly, don’t miss it!”
16Oniru is referred to by his inner circle of friends as ‘The Royal Comedian’ as he is the son of HRM Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru, the Oniru of Iruland, Lagos and Late Olori (Deaconess) Adeola Oniru. He had his debut comedy show a few years ago themed ’16Oniru: Royalty Undisputed’ which was a huge success. He has also graced some of the biggest comedy stages in the country including Standup Nigeria, Alibaba’s Spontaneity, iLaff with MC Abbey, Lafup Live, amongst others.
16Oniru is a graduate of Babcock University and he tested the waters of the corporate world until 2013 when he resigned from his white-collar job to fully pursue his passion – comedy.
