Apple, Beats By Dre Unveils “Straight Outta Compton” Headphones


Following its highly successful box office premiere, Dr. Dre and his Beats By Dre counterparts have decided to create limited edition Straight Outta Compton headphones.

The black headphones feature the logo of the N.W.A. biopic and retail for $379.95 on the Beats website.

“Where you come from shapes who you are today,” the product description reads. “We all come Straight Outta somewhere, we all have our own unique stories. This studio wireless headphone is inspired by Straight Outta Compton in very limited quantities.”

The film depicts N.W.A’s rise to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It brought in $60 million its opening weekend.

Dr. Dre sold Beats to Apple in May of last year for a reported $3.2 billion.

The Beats By Dre Straight Outta Compton headphones arrive at a perfect time to capitalize off the movie’s success. It recently experienced its second-consecutive week atop the box office and has crossed the $100 million mark on a $29 million budget.
